The Hedley Way Centre is a social club for over 60’s situated in the Manor Grounds at the top of Brook Street. Formerly The Old Peoples’ Social Centre, the club is a registered charity (221305) and has been in operation since the late 1940’s.

The present building, which was made possible by funding received from various charities, was officially opened by The Bishop of Exeter on 6th December 2001.

The main activity of The Hedley Way Centre club, which caters for over 60’s, takes place on a Wednesday afternoon at 2.30 when there is either a speaker, a demonstration, a film show, a quiz, musical entertainment or some other kind of activity. Limited door to door transport is available on a Wednesday afternoon for a small charge. Occasional outings and lunches are arranged. In addition members meet for Bingo on Monday afternoons also at 2.30.

Membership currently costs £6 a year and a charge of £1.50 is made on Wednesday afternoon to include tea and biscuits.

Associate members under the age of 60 are also welcome and pay the same membership fee.

New members and visitors are always welcome. For further information about the club please contact the secretary Liz Wedlake on 01626 863679 or email
